PENONG'S: NOW IN CEBU

I was just scanning my Twitter when I read sir Marvin's tweet about trying out Penong's with Rabsin and Cedric. I asked them if I could tag along; they agreed. We waited at McDonalds Escario since it was too early (a bit too excited); they opened at 10AM.

Penong's opened last Sunday (March 3, 2013) and is located at the corner of Juana Osmeña St & Escario St.

We were one of the first few customers. High ceilings promote proper air circulation.

They have a wide array of affordable and delicious meals. I ordered their i5 (which reminds me of a Cebu IT Park building) - 1 piece chicken barbecue, 1 piece pork barbecue, unlimited rice, atsara and soup.

A must try: fresh fruits

After an hour, Penong's was jam-packed.

I know this is too overrated. But, I just wanted to share.

Me & JiBs attended mass at Redemptorist Church. Was late for the 9:30AM schedule so we stayed until the next mass. I can't recall when I last attended mass but I'm sure it was in Tacloban, I think. I was a bit teary-eyed while the mass was progressing; I realized, I miss my parents. The only reason I attended mass, before, was to be with my family. I've been away from home for too long. But I know they love me and I love them, regardless the distance.

After, we strolled around SM and finally decided to have lunch at Mang Inasal (Park Mall). I suddenly had the craving for rice.

Went home. Took an hour-long nap and then we decided to go to SRP to unwind. Stopped over at 7/11 (Gen. Maxilom Ave.) & bought chips & drinks.

Just had to share this. This was parked outside 7/11. Cool ride, right?

Headed to SRP. Enjoyed the fresh air, beautiful scenery, delicious food and, most especially, that feeling of being loved and giving love in return.

Tried to convince JiBs on riding the ferris wheel but failed. So, I just showed-off my shooting skills.

Closed the day at Casa Verde (Ramos).

SINULOG 2013

 

Me & JiBs at 3:25PM. Getting ready for the biggest & grandest street party in the Philippines.

Love our Keep Calm & Pit Senyor shirts by Little Boy Prods. Customized them myself. And the bracelets? Made them.

Looking for a parking spot was a real challenge but eventually was able to find one for PHP50. A bit far but worth the walk especially going through the mob at Baseline. 

Thought we were not going to see familiar faces, but then, while passing by Hotel Le Carmen we were mobbed by colorful fairies of Blanc. In a blink of an eye, we bid farewell to the whiteness of our shirts. They said that street parties are banned but they can never stop Cebuanos from partying. It was a whole lot of fun: people downing alcohol; paints on shirts & skin; free hugs and kisses; people getting wet; whistling, shouting, & dancing to the Sinulog beat.
